Will we, or won't we go to the polls in Canada?

I got a good kick out of the picture below, and it best describes how certain people feel about Prime Minister Harper.

While Harper's approval rating is still in the high 30% range is it enough for him to think he would win a majority if we do have an election in the spring as so many people are predicting. I don't know if he'll win a majority, and for that matter the Liberals for sure won't win a majority, so we most likely will be back to a minority government either under the control of the Conservatives or the Liberals.

Over the past several weeks I've noticed the leaders of the Conservatives, Liberals, and NDP making campaign style stops across the country. Harper making major announcements in Liberal stronghold of Toronto, Iggy going on a 20 riding tour of Conservative held ridings, excluding my riding of Simcoe-Grey, and Jack Layton making speeches in areas that have high NDP support.

Ontario is shaping up to be a battle ground should we have a spring election. With the Provincial Liberals looking as if they will go down in defeat this October, and the election of Rob Ford as Mayor of Toronto, the tide could very well be turning in Harper's favor. However I just don't think the people of Canada are ready to give him a majority government as most people feel the same way as I do that if he was to receive a majority he would bring in his very far right agenda. Canadians as a whole are more left leaning, and don't want to see Canada being taken to the far right.

I think we will have a spring election, and I predict it will be another minority government, but I just don't know if it will be Liberal or Conservative.

Until next time!
