Occupy the World!

What started as "Occupy Wall Street" is now turning into a protest movement across the western world. So what are these people actually protesting, and why has this movement picked up so much steam.

For starters the Occupy Wall Street protest was to bring attention to to the fact that trillions of taxpayers money was used to bail out banks, and Americas largest Wall Street firms, while the average middle class American was facing foreclosure on their homes. This all started during the Bush administration when George W. decided to take the billions in budget surplus left to him by Clinton and hand out tax cuts. His idea was by offering tax cuts to the job creators in the United States they would build more factory's and invest in creating jobs. However this was not the case, what they did do was take that money and save it, or invest it off shore, thereby not creating any new jobs. On top of this 9/11 hit and America was at war. Then Bush decided to invade Iraq thereby using the American credit card to finance 2 wars and his tax cuts.

In early 2008 a recession hit most of the western world, and the decline started to take effect. 2 of Americas car makers went bankrupt, tax revenues were on the decline and word bailout became a household word, but not for the middle class and the poor. Like I stated at the start of this posting Americas banks and big Wall Street firms received trillions in government money to save their butts. So what they did was take the money and then turnaround and give themselves millions in bonuses using our money. During 2008 another movement started taking shape and it was called "The Tea Party" and they wanted more accountability from the Federal govenrment, they wanted less taxes, and wanted less government.

Some say that within the next 10-15 years the middle class won't be around anymore. The two classes will be the rich and the poor. People need hope, people want change, and all political parties today don't offer any of this, and that's why this movement will only expand over time, unless governments of all stripes wake up and make the changes needed.

Until next time!
