The Tea Party - What's next?

What would have been the results of the U.S. mid-terms, had the Tea Party not have been around? I think we would have seen the Dems. still in control of the House, and maybe even a bigger hold on the Senate.

So why has the Tea Party had such an effect on American Politics? Some say the birth of the Tea Party came out of the win of Barack Obama as the first Black President of the United States. Other seem to think that the Tea Party has been around for years, but never had any influence on American Politics, and were just viewed as another fringe party looking to gain attention.

People like Sarah Palin are considered the darlings of the Tea Party movement. While she's a die hard Republican, she seems to give the Tea Party some creditability. If I was a Democrat, I would be very worried in 2012. With rumours that Donald Trump is thinking of making a run for the White House in 2012, Sarah Palin, Mitt Romney, and even Jeb Bush for the Republicans. Barack Obama needs to move his policies more to the center, than to the left. He needs to work with the Republicans so he can show the American people that he's not as partisan as they are.

History has shown that Bill Clinton for all of his personal problems while President, was able to achieve more as President with Congress being controlled by the Republicans, then he was when the Dems had control. The Democrats need to expose the Tea Party movement for what they really are. They are a movement which runs on a platform of fear. The problems facing the United States won't be resolved with the Republicans taking back control of the House. Remember it was the policies of George W. Bush, a Republican President that created the mess the United States is currently in.

Just remember the night that Barack Obama was elected President, when he said that the problems facing America won't be fixed in 1 year, or 2 years, or maybe not even in his first term as President, but they will be fixed by his policies. America can't afford to go backwards by the Tea Party movement, and I hope that by 2012 the Tea Party will fade away much like other movements have during the history of the United States of America.
