PMO and the White House get new chiefs of staff

Harper and Obama has something in common, they both start off the New Year with new Chiefs Of Staff. In the case of Harper he's bringing on board Nigel Wright , and for Obama he's bringing on board William Daley.

For HARPER:

Nigel Wright
  
Age: 47

Education: Law degrees from Harvard and the University of Toronto. B.A., University of Toronto (Trinity College.)
 
Credentials: Business friendly, comes to the PMO from Onex Corp.
Also a director of Hawker Beechcraft Inc., a partner with Lockheed
Martin, which is selling F-35 stealth fighters to Canada for $16 billion
in an untendered contract. Onex purchased Hawker Beechcraft for $3.8
billion. Wright also helped Onex purchase Boeing’s commercial-aircraft
division.
  
Past Political Experience: Worked in Brian Mulroney’s PMO; helped
in the 1983 campaign to dump Joe Clark as Progressive Conservative Party
leader.


For Obama:

William Daley
  
Age: 62
  
Education: Law degree, John Marshall Law School. B.A., Loyola University of Chicago.
 
Credentials: Business-friendly, comes to White House from JPMorgan
Chase, where he was head of corporate responsibility, and also sits on
the boards of aircraft maker Boeing Co. and the pharmaceutical firm
Abbott Laboratories Ltd.
  
Past Political Experience: Former commerce secretary in the Clinton
administration; helped run the presidential campaign of Al Gore.
